Campus Life

Like a small city spanning the Mississippi River, the U of M-Minneapolis campus is a bustling place with its own bus system and newspaper. We’ve collected some links so you can learn more about how we live, work and play.

  • Campus Events
The Campus Events calendar keeps track of the daily campus happenings.

  • Campus maps and directions
How do you get here? And there? And to that building? We’ve got maps!

  • Campus neighborhoods
Dinkytown and Stadium Village on the East Bank campus and Seven Corners on the West Bank campus are popular places to eat, shop and hang out for students and faculty.

  • Campus newspaper
The Minnesota Daily (or “The Daily”) is written and produced by students for students. You can pick up copies at kiosk all over campus or read it online.

  • Housing
Many of our first-year students choose the convenience of living on campus. And they’ve found that housing can be more than just a room. Living learning communities can connect you with other students with the same academic or cultural interests.
  • Public art
The Minneapolis and St. Paul campuses have an amazing variety of public art. Have a look.

  • Student Employment
If you having a job is a good choice for you, consider a job on campus.

  • Student Support
For concerns large and small, you'll find advisers, counselors, health care providers, programs, and resources to support you.

  • Student Unions
See a film festival, check out some local bands, take a one-day class that’s just for fun, play bingo for groceries. Our student unions have it all.

  • Transportation
Busing, biking, walking, driving: we may have a large campus, but we’ve figured out lots of ways to get you where you’re going and help keep the winter cold at bay.

  • West Bank Arts Quarter
If you are interested in studying or just appreciating theatre, art, music or dance, the West Bank Arts Quarter offers a unique opportunity to break new artistic ground.
