Exploring Careers

CLA Career Services

The Career and Community Learning Center (CCLC) is the career services office for College of Liberal Arts students. What does this mean for you? CCLC has all kinds of ways to help you explore majors, careers and internships. Whenever you're ready, CCLC can also help you research graduate schools and prepare for the job search.

The Career and Community Learning Center will help you:

  • Explore majors and choose one. CCLC does this via individual assistance, personality and interest tests, classes, and a resource room full of information you can browse.
  • Connect your major to potential careers.  You're likely to find options that you didn't know were available.
  • Search for internships and jobs. CCLC offers listings, resume critiques, mock interviews and on-campus recruiting. Visit the CCLC Resource Room for individual advice and materials. Sign up for a career class or a career workshop.
  • Decide if you want to attend grad school and help you apply. CCLC is also the U's prelaw advising office.
  • Find a volunteer opportunity in the Twin Cities. Volunteer work is a great way to explore your interests, live your values and build your skills!
  • Gain academic and professional support from accomplished CLA alumni and friends through the CLA Mentor Program.
