Visiting
We’d Love to Meet You in Person!
When you are deciding on a place to spend the next 4 years of your life, nothing beats going for a visit. There is no better way to understand what studying and living at the University of Minnesota is like. And we can talk with you specifically about your interests and goals—what drives you to discover.
Things You’ll See and Do When You Visit Campus
Our tour guides are students themselves. They'll be glad to show you around. You'll have a chance to get answers to all your questions. Plus, you can:
- check out residential housing
- visit campus facilities
- learn more about our campus resources
- meet with an admissions counselor about majors and degrees
- learn about ways to get involved in our campus community
- learn about resources available to multicultural students
Getting a customized visit
If you plan your visit at least 2 weeks in advance, our admissions office can provide you with a customized visit. What does that get you? A chance to get a closer look at particular departments or opportunities that you’re interested in. And you could even have a chance to sit in on a real class.
CLA academic information sessions
The Office of Admissions holds academic information sessions about CLA majors on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays. During the academic information sessions, you’ll learn more about the people, programs, activities and opportunities that make CLA the place to discover the world and yourself. Bring your questions!
Transfer students
Information sessions about the College of Liberal Arts are offered Monday through Friday from 3:30 - 4:00 p.m. These workshops include information on CLA degrees, the application process, transfer of credit, and degree and liberal education requirements.
